This walkthrough shows the Internet Connection Wizard, which is activated from the desktop of a new installation of Windows 2000; this wizard is only used to set up Outlook Express for the first time. Ensure that you have your Powernet nodename and password available before setting up the connection.
From the Main Windows 'Desktop' screen, select the button and the 'Start' menu will appear. From the 'Start' menu, select 'Programs' and 'Outlook Express' options.

Outlook Express will open and the following screen will be displayed, allowing you to configure your email account. Follow these step-by-step instructions to do so.

At the Set up Your Internet Account screen, click Yes and then Next.

On this screen you have the option to import your email settings from another email client or to set up a brand new e-mail account. If you don't have an email client set up already, click Create a new Internet mail account and then click Next to continue.

At the Your Name window, enter your Full name or Company name in the Display name field. This is the name that will appear on all emails sent by you. Click Next to continue.

At the E-mail address field, enter your Power Internet e-mail address using the following format username@nodename.powernet.co.uk, and then click Next to continue.

At the E-mail Server Names screen, make sure that POP3 is selected for your incoming mail server.
For the Incoming e-mail, enter pop3.powernet.co.uk.
For the Outgoing e-mail, enter mail.powernet.co.uk.
Click Next to continue.

In the Account name field, enter your Powernet nodename.
Enter your password in the password field, and put a tick in the Remember password box.
The account name must be in lowercase and the password is case sensitive.
Click Next to continue, and at the final screen click on Finish to complete the set up.
